Cross-stitch: Cross-stitch is a form of embroidery or needlepoint in which stitches in the form of X’s, are stitched to form a picture, design, or text.
Stitching: There are two different methods to use when cross stitching. One is to make all of the ( / / / / / ) stitches and then go back making the ( \ \ \ \ \ ) stitches.
The second method is to make one X at a time, such as ( / ) then ( \ ) on the same square, then moving to the next square ( / ) then ( \). What is important here is that all your stitches lay the same way. Either all of the ( / ) stitches are on top and all the ( \ ) stitches are on the bottom, or all the ( \ ) stitches are on top and all the ( / ) stitches are on the bottom throughout the entire pattern.
